Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.10% to hit a new 52-week high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.15%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 4.56% or 2.70 points to trade at 61.96 at the close. Meanwhile, AXA SA (PA:AXAF) added 4.56% or 0.93 points to end at 21.23 and Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) was up 3.41% or 0.69 points to 21.07 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which fell 3.72% or 4.50 points to trade at 116.50 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.49% or 3.59 points to end at 99.13 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was down 1.62% or 2.10 points to 127.20.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which rose 10.48% to 39.705, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was up 9.22% to settle at 6.68 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which gained 7.38% to close at 20.00.

The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) which was down 9.06% to 10.24 in late trade, SES (PA:SESFd) which lost 6.37% to settle at 6.46 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) which was down 3.72% to 116.50 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 322 to 248 and 103 ended unchanged.

Shares in Technip Energies BV (PA:TE) fell to all time lows; down 9.06% or 1.02 to 10.24.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.33% or 23.85 to $1774.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $63.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.22 to trade at $65.96 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.2224, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8646.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 89.832.
