Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.10%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which rose 5.34% or 1.92 points to trade at 37.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 3.02% or 1.32 points to end at 45.07 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was up 2.21% or 0.50 points to 23.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.43% or 2.26 points to trade at 63.64 at the close. Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) declined 2.98% or 1.40 points to end at 45.60 and Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) was down 1.46% or 4.20 points to 284.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which rose 5.99% to 34.50, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which was up 5.34% to settle at 37.90 and Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which gained 3.47% to close at 28.30.
The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 3.43% to 63.64 in late trade, Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which lost 2.98% to settle at 45.60 and Kaufman Et Broad (PA:KOF) which was down 2.35% to 37.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 325 to 269 and 68 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.09% or 1.65 to $1835.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.50% or 1.37 to hit $56.13 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 0.96 to trade at $58.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.25% to 1.2011, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8802.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 91.227.
