Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.10%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 1.54% or 0.228 points to trade at 15.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) added 1.38% or 1.40 points to end at 102.70 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 1.27% or 1.40 points to 111.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS), which fell 2.05% or 13.20 points to trade at 632.20 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) declined 1.03% or 3.95 points to end at 380.05 and Accor SA (PA:ACCP) was down 0.75% or 0.30 points to 39.94.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Faurecia (PA:EPED) which rose 3.09% to 38.98, Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was up 2.16% to settle at 74.700 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA (PA:PLOF) which gained 2.13% to close at 21.13.
The worst performers were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which was down 11.44% to 37.64 in late trade, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which lost 4.54% to settle at 2.521 and Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 2.83% to 0.808 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 287 to 287 and 83 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 5.20% to 12.94.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.16% or 2.25 to $1414.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.08% or 0.65 to hit $59.56 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.31 to trade at $66.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1259, while EUR/GBP rose 0.41% to 0.8998.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 96.553.
