Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Atos SE (PA:ATOS), which rose 1.87% or 1.42 points to trade at 77.50 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 1.76% or 0.390 points to end at 22.530 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 1.60% or 2.25 points to 143.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:CARR), which fell 1.80% or 0.28 points to trade at 15.29 at the close. Total SA (PA:TOTF) declined 1.66% or 0.81 points to end at 48.12 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) was down 1.35% or 1.45 points to 105.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which rose 14.74% to 92.65, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 8.34% to settle at 14.680 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which gained 5.78% to close at 3.95.
The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 6.37% to 11.32 in late trade, Natixis (PA:CNAT) which lost 3.93% to settle at 3.859 and Imerys SA (PA:IMTP) which was down 3.65% to 36.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 300 to 259 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.76% or 0.390 to 22.530.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.78% to 11.86.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.22% or 3.25 to $1467.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.38% or 0.22 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.53% or 0.33 to trade at $62.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1020, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8569.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 98.195.
