Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which rose 3.39% or 1.37 points to trade at 41.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) added 3.19% or 3.06 points to end at 98.86 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 2.85% or 1.62 points to 58.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM), which fell 2.66% or 0.90 points to trade at 32.93 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 2.08% or 3.75 points to end at 176.80 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.71% or 0.34 points to 19.37.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which rose 6.68% to 8.71, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 6.41% to settle at 34.530 and Aeroports de Paris SA (PA:ADP) which gained 5.17% to close at 104.80.
The worst performers were Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was down 6.48% to 27.40 in late trade, Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which lost 5.24% to settle at 173.60 and Nexans SA (PA:NEXS) which was down 4.72% to 63.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 426 to 175 and 66 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.12% or 2.20 to $1806.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.78% or 0.48 to hit $61.22 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.25 to trade at $64.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.2160, while EUR/GBP fell 0.25% to 0.8619.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 90.052.
