Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 7.27% or 1.26 points to trade at 18.65 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 4.28% or 1.24 points to end at 30.19 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 3.02% or 1.84 points to 62.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orange SA (PA:ORAN), which fell 2.16% or 0.22 points to trade at 9.78 at the close. Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) declined 2.08% or 1.62 points to end at 76.23 and Air Liquide SA (PA:AIRP) was down 1.84% or 2.50 points to 133.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which rose 7.27% to 18.65, Robertet (PA:ROBF) which was up 4.76% to settle at 902.00 and Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which gained 4.47% to close at 14.97.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was down 37.59% to 9.18 in late trade, Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which lost 5.51% to settle at 113.10 and Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which was down 2.62% to 74.98 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 313 to 277 and 74 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.67% to 21.74.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.13% or 20.65 to $1852.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.00% or 0.47 to hit $47.46 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.37 to trade at $50.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.2159, while EUR/GBP fell 0.64% to 0.9053.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 90.438.
