Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.02%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR), which rose 4.45% or 0.46 points to trade at 10.68 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 3.03% or 1.02 points to end at 34.67 and Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) was up 2.30% or 0.98 points to 43.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 12.49% or 8.12 points to trade at 56.88 at the close. Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) declined 3.57% or 2.78 points to end at 75.00 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 2.58% or 0.50 points to 18.72.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Coface (PA:COFA) which rose 6.87% to 9.18, Rexel (PA:RXL) which was up 6.62% to settle at 14.26 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) which gained 4.45% to close at 10.68.
The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 12.49% to 56.88 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 3.97% to settle at 18.50 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) which was down 3.57% to 75.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 332 to 267 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) rose to 5-year highs; rising 3.03% or 1.02 to 34.67. Shares in Rexel (PA:RXL) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.62% or 0.89 to 14.26.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.17% or 3.15 to $1839.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.41% or 0.24 to hit $58.44 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.17 to trade at $61.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.2131, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 90.380.
