France stocks higher at close of trade

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas Producers, Oil & Gas and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.31% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.12%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which rose 4.03% or 9.28 points to trade at 239.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour (PARIS:CARR) added 3.93% or 1.03 points to end at 27.38 and Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) was up 3.46% or 0.28 points to 8.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA), which fell 2.08% or 0.059 points to trade at 2.776 at the close. Alstom (PARIS:ALSO) declined 1.19% or 0.32 points to end at 26.57 and Vinci SA (PARIS:SGEF) was down 0.84% or 0.41 points to 47.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Artprice Com (PARIS:ARTF) which rose 7.74% to 14.48, Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) which was up 4.03% to settle at 239.57 and Carrefour (PARIS:CARR) which gained 3.93% to close at 27.38.

The worst performers were SEB SA (PARIS:SEBF) which was down 5.58% to 59.26 in late trade, Casino Guichard (PARIS:CASP) which lost 5.29% to settle at 74.46 and AB Science (PARIS:ABS) which was down 4.06% to 13.720 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 485 to 413 and 54 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.07% to 26.98.

Gold for February delivery was up 1.04% or 13.10 to $1277.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in February rose 2.98% or 1.38 to hit $47.63 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 2.02% or 0.97 to trade at $49.24 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.91% to 1.1525, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7617.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 93.17.
