Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Travel & Leisure and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 4.21% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SZSE Component index declined 5.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Sd Hiking (SS:600735), which rose 10.01% or 1.550 points to trade at 17.030 at the close. Meanwhile, Shenqi Phar (SS:600613) added 8.75% or 1.600 points to end at 19.880 and Huayin Elec (SS:600744) was up 6.58% or 0.670 points to 10.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ba Yi Steel (SS:600581), which fell 10.04% or 1.080 points to trade at 9.680 at the close. Fenglin Wood (SS:601996) declined 10.04% or 1.010 points to end at 9.050 and Black Peony (SS:600510) was down 10.03% or 1.480 points to 13.280.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Jinke Property Group Co Ltd (SZ:000656) which rose 10.00% to 7.15, Zhefu Holding Group Co Ltd (SZ:002266) which was up 9.96% to settle at 12.14 and Shaanxi Fenghuo Electronics Co Ltd (SZ:000561) which gained 9.09% to close at 12.72.
The worst performers were Zhejiang Jingxing Paper Joint Stock Co Ltd (SZ:002067) which was down 10.03% to 7.09 in late trade, Chuying Agro-Pastoral Group Co Ltd (SZ:002477) which lost 10.02% to settle at 16.71 and Yunnan luoping Zinc & Electricity Co Ltd (SZ:002114) which was down 10.02% to 13.83 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 923 to 43.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 11.20% to 36.33.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1152.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.45% or 0.18 to hit $41.13 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $46.45 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.06% to 6.3926, while EUR/CNY rose 0.13% to 7.1883.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.64.
