Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 3.55%, while the SZSE Component index declined 4.99%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Ancai Hi-Tech (SS:600207), which rose 10.10% or 0.490 points to trade at 5.340 at the close. Meanwhile, Sinopec Oilfield Service Corp (SS:600871) added 10.05% or 0.630 points to end at 6.900 and Xinhua Commer (SS:600785) was up 10.02% or 2.660 points to 29.210 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Chongqing Stee (SS:601005), which fell 10.09% or 0.350 points to trade at 3.120 at the close. Bj North Star (SS:601588) declined 10.08% or 0.480 points to end at 4.280 and Js Sunshine (SS:600220) was down 10.06% or 0.480 points to 4.290.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were JiangSu JiangHuai Engine Co Ltd (SZ:000816) which rose 10.03% to 6.36, Hangzhou Binjiang Real Estate Group Co Ltd (SZ:002244) which was up 9.95% to settle at 8.29 and Xinjiang Beixin Road&Bridge Group Co Ltd (SZ:002307) which gained 6.96% to close at 11.99.
The worst performers were Hebei Iron and Steel Co Ltd (SZ:000709) which was down 10.09% to 3.12 in late trade, Shantui Construction Machinery Co Ltd (SZ:000680) which lost 10.06% to settle at 4.47 and Suzhou Good-Ark Electronics Co Ltd (SZ:002079) which was down 10.05% to 6.89 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 891 to 65.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 0.48% to 47.48.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.14% or 1.60 to $1106.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.80% or 0.35 to hit $44.35 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.17 to trade at $47.52 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.03% to 6.3695, while EUR/CNY fell 0.13% to 7.1979.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.45.
