Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 2.67%, while the SZSE Component index declined 6.55%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Fenglin Wood (SS:601996), which rose 10.06% or 0.680 points to trade at 7.440 at the close. Meanwhile, Ccs Supply Cha (SS:600180) added 10.03% or 1.560 points to end at 17.120 and Sany (SS:600031) was up 10.03% or 0.660 points to 7.240 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vantone Estate (SS:600246), which fell 10.08% or 0.490 points to trade at 4.370 at the close. Sinovel Wind G (SS:601558) declined 10.08% or 0.400 points to end at 3.570 and Hi-Tech Devlp (SS:600082) was down 10.07% or 0.550 points to 4.910.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Zhejiang Jolly Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:300181) which rose 10.07% to 8.42, East China Engineering Science and Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002140) which was up 9.99% to settle at 18.17 and Zhejiang Wanfeng Auto Wheel Co Ltd (SZ:002085) which gained 9.94% to close at 19.47.
The worst performers were Hebei Iron and Steel Co Ltd (SZ:000709) which was down 10.10% to 3.47 in late trade, Tianjin Jinbin Development (SZ:000897) which lost 10.08% to settle at 4.37 and Guangdong Baolihua New Energy Stock Co LTD (SZ:000690) which was down 10.05% to 7.25 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 879 to 76.
Shares in Tianjin Jinbin Development (SZ:000897) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.08% or 0.49 to 4.37.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.67% to 47.71.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.20 to $1106.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.26% or 0.12 to hit $44.52 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.36 to trade at $48.67 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.09% to 6.3690, while EUR/CNY rose 0.05% to 7.2281.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 95.27.
