Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 2.53% to hit a new 52-week low, while the SZSE Component index declined 2.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Xinjiang Sayram Modern Agriculture Co Ltd (SS:600540), which rose 10.08% or 0.490 points to trade at 5.350 at the close. Meanwhile, BanBao Co Ltd (SS:603398) added 10.01% or 1.340 points to end at 14.730 and Great-Sun Foods Co Ltd (SS:603336) was up 10.00% or 2.100 points to 23.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Clenergy Xiamen Technology Co Ltd (SS:603628), which fell 10.03% or 1.34 points to trade at 12.02 at the close. Xinjiang Baihuacun Co Ltd (SS:600721) declined 10.02% or 1.040 points to end at 9.340 and Nanjing Doron Technology Corp Ltd (SS:603528) was down 10.01% or 0.920 points to 8.270.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shandong Humon Smelting Co Ltd (SZ:002237) which rose 9.35% to 11.46, Songcheng Performance Develop (SZ:300144) which was up 6.13% to settle at 22.00 and Jiugui Liquor Co Ltd (SZ:000799) which gained 5.82% to close at 27.10.
The worst performers were Suzhou Anjie Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002635) which was down 10.02% to 17.16 in late trade, Beijing Sinnet Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300383) which lost 10.00% to settle at 14.13 and Shenzhen Hifuture Electric (SZ:002168) which was down 9.96% to 10.03 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 1250 to 124 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Songcheng Performance Develop (SZ:300144) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.13% or 1.27 to 22.00. Shares in Shenzhen Hifuture Electric (SZ:002168) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.96% or 1.11 to 10.03.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 14.93% to 23.55 a new 1-month high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.17% or 2.20 to $1296.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $66.72 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.11 to trade at $75.38 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.06% to 6.4238, while EUR/CNY rose 0.67% to 7.4528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 94.46.
