Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Retailers and Life Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite fell 0.48%, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Xinjiang Dushanzi TianLi High & NewTech Co Ltd PRC (SS:600339), which rose 10.11% or 0.440 points to trade at 4.790 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzhou Douson Drilling & Production Equipment Co Ltd (SS:603800) added 10.04% or 1.370 points to end at 15.020 and Double Coin A (SS:600623) was up 10.04% or 1.100 points to 12.060 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tangshan Port Group Co Ltd (SS:601000), which fell 24.45% or 1.110 points to trade at 3.430 at the close. Shanghai Diesel Engine Co Ltd A (SS:600841) declined 9.99% or 1.420 points to end at 12.790 and JDM JingDa Machine Ningbo Co Ltd (SS:603088) was down 9.98% or 2.63 points to 23.71.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Shenzhen Shenxin Taifeng Group Co Ltd (SZ:000034) which rose 9.99% to 22.36, LandOcean Energy Services Co (SZ:300157) which was up 7.64% to settle at 7.89 and Shijiazhuang Changshan Textile Co Ltd (SZ:000158) which gained 5.85% to close at 8.69.
The worst performers were Shandong Qixing Iron Tower Co Ltd (SZ:002359) which was down 10.01% to 21.75 in late trade, Beijing Miteno Communication Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300038) which lost 6.68% to settle at 14.11 and Apex Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002180) which was down 4.98% to 31.09 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 779 to 530 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Beijing Miteno Communication Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300038) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.68% or 1.01 to 14.11.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 20.58.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.22% or 2.90 to $1288.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.41% or 0.29 to hit $71.78 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.28 to trade at $79.56 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.09% to 6.3660, while EUR/CNY fell 0.07% to 7.5170.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 93.28.
