Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.35%, while the SZSE Component index declined 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Hunan Baili Engineering Sci & Tech Co Ltd (SS:603959), which rose 10.02% or 3.150 points to trade at 34.600 at the close. Meanwhile, GuangZhou Baiyun Electric Equipment Co Ltd (SS:603861) added 9.99% or 2.120 points to end at 23.340 and Nantong Square Cold Chain Equipment Co Ltd (SS:603339) was up 9.99% or 2.710 points to 29.840 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Zhejiang Three Stars New Materials Co Ltd (SS:603578), which fell 10.00% or 5.15 points to trade at 46.33 at the close. China Science Publishing & Media Ltd (SS:601858) declined 8.25% or 1.10 points to end at 12.23 and Luoyang Glass (SS:600876) was down 8.17% or 2.030 points to 22.810.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Suzhou Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co Ltd (SZ:002081) which rose 8.03% to 12.38, JPMF Guangdong Co Ltd (SZ:002600) which was up 6.28% to settle at 8.80 and Yantai Changyu Pioneer Wine Co Ltd (SZ:000869) which gained 5.98% to close at 39.90.
The worst performers were Swan Fiber Co Ltd (SZ:000687) which was down 8.98% to 15.20 in late trade, ZTE Corp (SZ:000063) which lost 7.35% to settle at 28.38 and First Capital Securities Co Ltd Class A (SZ:002797) which was down 6.30% to 12.05 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 1024 to 297 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Suzhou Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co Ltd (SZ:002081) rose to 52-week highs; up 8.03% or 0.92 to 12.38.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 1.26% to 17.27.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.93 to $1284.93 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.29% or 0.15 to hit $51.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.17 to trade at $57.98 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.08% to 6.6230, while EUR/CNY rose 0.09% to 7.8200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.22.
