Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.33% to hit a new 52-week low, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Zhejiang Rongsheng Environmental Protection Paper Co Ltd (SS:603165), which rose 10.00% or 1.62 points to trade at 17.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Ningbo Fuda Co Ltd (SS:600724) added 10.00% or 0.330 points to end at 3.630 and Guizhou Guihang Automotive Components Co Ltd (SS:600523) was up 10.00% or 0.810 points to 8.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jonjee Hi-tech Industrial and Commercial Holding Co Ltd (SS:600872), which fell 5.81% or 1.700 points to trade at 27.580 at the close. Tc Medical Inv (SS:600763) declined 5.16% or 2.630 points to end at 48.300 and Laobaixing Pharmacy Chain Joint Stock Co (SS:603883) was down 5.16% or 3.010 points to 55.350.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Leo Group Co Ltd (SZ:002131) which rose 9.84% to 2.01, EVE Energy (SZ:300014) which was up 9.25% to settle at 13.70 and Zhejiang Hexin Industry Group Co Ltd (SZ:002343) which gained 7.51% to close at 12.74.
The worst performers were Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002236) which was down 10.01% to 14.02 in late trade, Xinzhi Motor Co Ltd (SZ:002664) which lost 9.99% to settle at 19.20 and Jiangsu Nhwa Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SZ:002262) which was down 9.99% to 16.03 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 736 to 586 and 123 ended unchanged.
Shares in Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002236) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.01% or 1.56 to 14.02. Shares in Xinzhi Motor Co Ltd (SZ:002664) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.99% or 2.13 to 19.20.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.03.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 2.70 to $1199.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.77% or 0.53 to hit $69.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $79.13 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.00% to 6.8719, while EUR/CNY fell 0.15% to 7.9634.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 95.16.
