Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mobile and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.04%, while the SZSE Component index declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were North China Pharmaceutical Co Ltd (SS:600812), which rose 10.06% or 0.500 points to trade at 5.470 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanning Department Store Co Ltd (SS:600712) added 10.05% or 0.430 points to end at 4.710 and Liaoning SG Automotive Group Co Ltd (SS:600303) was up 10.04% or 0.520 points to 5.700 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Start Group (SS:600734), which fell 6.49% or 0.550 points to trade at 7.930 at the close. Huafang Co Ltd (SS:600448) declined 6.22% or 0.300 points to end at 4.520 and Shanghai Zhongyida Co Ltd B (SS:900906) was down 5.41% or 0.006 points to 0.105.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were BlueFocus Communication Group (SZ:300058) which rose 10.09% to 5.89, Shenzhen Tatfook Tech (SZ:300134) which was up 10.02% to settle at 12.41 and Beijing Miteno Communication Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300038) which gained 10.00% to close at 13.09.
The worst performers were Shenzhen Kangtai Biological Products Co Ltd (SZ:300601) which was down 9.49% to 47.21 in late trade, Oceanwide Holdings Co Ltd (SZ:000046) which lost 5.19% to settle at 6.40 and Nanjing Hanrui Cobalt Co Ltd (SZ:300618) which was down 4.10% to 152.63 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 710 to 624 and 88 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shanghai Zhongyida Co Ltd B (SS:900906) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.41% or 0.006 to 0.105.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 23.04.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1227.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.87% or 0.64 to trade at $74.08 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.19% to 6.7786, while EUR/CNY fell 0.08% to 7.9276.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 94.30.
