Investing.com – China stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Oil Equipment Services & Distribution and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.02%, while the SZSE Component index lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanghai Kindly Enterprise Development Group Co Ltd (SS:603987), which rose 10.02% or 1.720 points to trade at 18.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Avic Aviation High Technology Co Ltd (SS:600862) added 10.02% or 1.20 points to end at 13.18 and Xinhuanet Co Ltd (SS:603888) was up 10.01% or 2.920 points to 32.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ShanXi Coking Co Ltd (SS:600740), which fell 7.56% or 0.770 points to trade at 9.410 at the close. Jiangsu Pacific Quartz Co Ltd (SS:603688) declined 6.06% or 1.09 points to end at 16.90 and Tongwei Co Ltd (SS:600438) was down 4.89% or 0.500 points to 9.730.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Csg Smart Science&Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300222) which rose 10.00% to 28.27, Beijing New Building Materials Public Ltd Co (SZ:000786) which was up 6.51% to settle at 19.30 and Hengbao Co Ltd (SZ:002104) which gained 6.45% to close at 11.38.
The worst performers were Walvax BioTech (SZ:300142) which was down 6.32% to 16.60 in late trade, Westone Information Industry Inc (SZ:002268) which lost 6.20% to settle at 21.03 and Jiangsu Yunyi Electric (SZ:300304) which was down 4.59% to 9.78 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 833 to 442 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Beijing New Building Materials Public Ltd Co (SZ:000786) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 6.51% or 1.18 to 19.30.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.48% to 17.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.78% or 10.00 to $1298.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.49% or 0.25 to hit $51.05 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.18 to trade at $56.76 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.18% to 6.5819, while EUR/CNY fell 0.15% to 7.8087.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 92.74.
