Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 3.00%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 4.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Beih Property (SS:600791), which rose 10.08% or 0.630 points to trade at 6.880 at the close. Meanwhile, Zhejiang Med (SS:600216) added 10.06% or 0.880 points to end at 9.630 and Conba (SS:600572) was up 10.05% or 1.080 points to 11.830 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Maling (SS:600073), which fell 9.71% or 1.310 points to trade at 12.180 at the close. Harbin Air Con (SS:600202) declined 5.40% or 0.600 points to end at 10.520 and Js Zhongda (SS:600074) was down 5.39% or 0.74 points to 12.99.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Juli Sling Co Ltd (SZ:002342) which rose 10.09% to 6.22, Sealand Securities Co Ltd (SZ:000750) which was up 10.06% to settle at 9.96 and Inner Mongolia Xingye Mining Co Ltd (SZ:000426) which gained 10.06% to close at 5.36.
The worst performers were Zhejiang Jingsheng Mech Electric (SZ:300316) which was down 10.00% to 23.31 in late trade, Yantai Jereh Oilfield Services Group Co Ltd (SZ:002353) which lost 9.99% to settle at 35.93 and Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co Ltd (SZ:000927) which was down 4.96% to 6.13 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 933 to 19.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.15% to 35.56 a new 1-month low.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.40% or 4.60 to $1144.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.71% or 0.34 to hit $48.15 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.49 to trade at $51.82 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.06% to 6.3520, while EUR/CNY rose 0.44% to 7.1738.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 95.30.
