Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Mobile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 2.16% to hit a new 3-years high, while the SZSE Component index climbed 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Wintime Energy (SS:600157), which rose 10.09% or 0.54 points to trade at 5.89 at the close. Meanwhile, Jinzhou Port-B (SS:900952) added 10.09% or 0.058 points to end at 0.633 and Inesa Electron B (SS:900901) was up 10.07% or 0.071 points to 0.776 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wenfeng Chain (SS:601010), which fell 7.82% or 1.680 points to trade at 19.800 at the close. Baida Group (SS:600865) declined 3.75% or 0.680 points to end at 17.470 and Prosolar Resou (SS:600193) was down 3.61% or 0.470 points to 12.540.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000725) which rose 9.91% to 4.66, Iflytek Co Ltd (SZ:002230) which was up 8.60% to settle at 68.05 and Weichai Power Co Ltd (SZ:000338) which gained 6.35% to close at 35.00.
The worst performers were Suzhou Gold Mantis Construction Decoration Co Ltd (SZ:002081) which was down 2.83% to 33.33 in late trade, GF Securities Co Ltd (SZ:000776) which lost 2.03% to settle at 29.99 and Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002236) which was down 1.73% to 39.76 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 818 to 141.
Shares in Wintime Energy (SS:600157) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.09% or 0.54 to 5.89. Shares in Jinzhou Port-B (SS:900952) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.09% or 0.058 to 0.633. Shares in Inesa Electron B (SS:900901) rose to 3-years highs; rising 10.07% or 0.071 to 0.776. Shares in BOE Technology Group Co Ltd (SZ:000725) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.91% or 0.42 to 4.66. Shares in Iflytek Co Ltd (SZ:002230) rose to all time highs; up 8.60% or 5.39 to 68.05. Shares in Weichai Power Co Ltd (SZ:000338) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.35% or 2.09 to 35.00.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 0.67% to 33.85.
Gold for June delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1204.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.55% or 0.80 to hit $52.44 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.70 to trade at $59.66 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.09% to 6.2147, while EUR/CNY rose 0.01% to 6.5854.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 99.75.
