Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 1.85%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 2.98%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Anhui Liuguo Chemical Co Ltd (SS:600470), which rose 10.09% or 0.470 points to trade at 5.130 at the close. Meanwhile, Liaoning Shidai Wanheng Co Ltd (SS:600241) added 10.07% or 0.710 points to end at 7.760 and Start Group (SS:600734) was up 10.04% or 0.670 points to 7.340 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shanghai Wanye Enterprises Co Ltd (SS:600641), which fell 4.02% or 0.490 points to trade at 11.690 at the close. Taiyuan Chemical Industry Co Ltd (SS:600281) declined 3.14% or 0.140 points to end at 4.320 and Ningbo Construction Co Ltd (SS:601789) was down 2.82% or 0.120 points to 4.140.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Xingyuan Environment Technology Co Ltd (SZ:300266) which rose 10.08% to 3.93, Xiamen Meiya Pico Information (SZ:300188) which was up 10.02% to settle at 18.00 and Taiji Computer Corp Ltd (SZ:002368) which gained 10.00% to close at 32.79.
The worst performers were Tonghua Golden-Horse Pharmaceutical Industry Co Ltd (SZ:000766) which was down 9.95% to 8.33 in late trade, Risen Energy (SZ:300118) which lost 7.73% to settle at 8.00 and Talkweb Information System Co Ltd (SZ:002261) which was down 3.23% to 5.400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 1333 to 79 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tonghua Golden-Horse Pharmaceutical Industry Co Ltd (SZ:000766) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.95% or 0.92 to 8.33. Shares in Risen Energy (SZ:300118) fell to 3-years lows; down 7.73% or 0.67 to 8.00.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was unchanged 0.00% to 20.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1218.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.27 to hit $66.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.32% or 0.23 to trade at $72.05 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.10% to 6.8300, while EUR/CNY fell 0.36% to 7.9086.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.18.
