Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retailers, Software & Computer Services and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite rose 1.76%, while the SZSE Component index gained 2.12%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Lanzhou Minbai (SS:600738), which rose 10.05% or 0.970 points to trade at 10.620 at the close. Meanwhile, Beida Jade Bir (SS:600076) added 10.05% or 0.930 points to end at 10.180 and Citychamp (SS:600067) was up 10.05% or 0.980 points to 10.730 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yunsheng (SS:600366), which fell 10.01% or 3.160 points to trade at 28.420 at the close. Ningbo Constru (SS:601789) declined 10.01% or 1.870 points to end at 16.810 and Xinhua Commer (SS:600785) was down 5.01% or 1.600 points to 30.330.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Hangzhou Binjiang Real Estate Group Co Ltd (SZ:002244) which rose 10.06% to 9.19, Shenzhen Zhenye Group Co Ltd (SZ:000006) which was up 10.02% to settle at 15.37 and Zhejiang Netsun Co Ltd (SZ:002095) which gained 10.01% to close at 63.98.
The worst performers were Focused Photonics Hangzhou Inc (SZ:300203) which was down 10.01% to 30.49 in late trade, Lu Thai Textile Co Ltd (SZ:000726) which lost 2.23% to settle at 17.06 and Changchun High & New Technology Industries Group Inc (SZ:000661) which was down 1.86% to 144.85 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 904 to 65.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 3.94% to 33.28.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.50% or 5.60 to $1118.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.74% or 0.32 to hit $43.62 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.08% or 0.54 to trade at $50.72 a barrel.
USD/CNY was up 0.52% to 6.4205, while EUR/CNY rose 0.19% to 7.1411.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 96.55.
