Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Technology and Technology Hardware & Equipment sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite gained 0.28%, while the SZSE Component index climbed 2.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Shanying Paper (SS:600567), which rose 10.06% or 0.350 points to trade at 3.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Qianjiang (SS:600796) added 10.04% or 0.830 points to end at 9.100 and Teamsun Tech (SS:600410) was up 10.02% or 1.850 points to 20.320 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harbin Air Con (SS:600202), which fell 10.03% or 1.530 points to trade at 13.730 at the close. Xinjiang Tiany (SS:600075) declined 10.03% or 1.17 points to end at 10.49 and Jiangquan Ind (SS:600212) was down 9.98% or 0.990 points to 8.930.
The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tianjin Economic-technological Development Area Co Ltd (SZ:000652) which rose 10.07% to 5.90, Haima Automobile Group Co Ltd (SZ:000572) which was up 10.06% to settle at 5.80 and Vtron Technologies Ltd (SZ:002308) which gained 10.03% to close at 13.600.
The worst performers were Shanghai STEP Electric Corp (SZ:002527) which was down 9.98% to 20.30 in late trade, Xinjiang Beixin Road&Bridge Group Co Ltd (SZ:002307) which lost 5.21% to settle at 12.55 and Sichuan Jinlu Group Co Ltd (SZ:000510) which was down 5.04% to 7.16 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 791 to 166.
The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was down 2.58% to 40.34.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.71% or 8.10 to $1137.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.32 to hit $45.38 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.33 to trade at $48.27 a barrel.
USD/CNY was down 0.07% to 6.3696, while EUR/CNY fell 0.28% to 7.1177.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 96.50.
