Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Public Utilities and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which rose 4.29% or 2.08 points to trade at 50.54 at the close. Meanwhile, EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) added 3.16% or 0.37 points to end at 12.08 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) was up 2.95% or 0.19 points to 6.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which fell 5.72% or 1.20 points to trade at 19.78 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 3.68% or 1.19 points to end at 31.14 and Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) was down 3.50% or 0.35 points to 9.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 202 to 166 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.29% or 2.08 to 50.54. Shares in EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.16% or 0.37 to 12.08.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.10% to 28.95.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.46 to $1294.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $51.02 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.27% or 4.28 to trade at $126.67 .
USD/BRL was up 0.01% to 3.1719, while EUR/BRL rose 0.03% to 3.7622.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 92.79.
