Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3), which rose 9.21% or 0.98 points to trade at 11.62 at the close. Meanwhile, 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:BRAV3) added 7.93% or 1.32 points to end at 17.97 and Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF:RAIZ4) was up 3.31% or 0.08 points to 2.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 7.50% or 0.40 points to trade at 4.93 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3) declined 6.94% or 0.22 points to end at 2.95 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was down 5.69% or 1.42 points to 23.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 535 to 425 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.94% or 0.22 to 2.95.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.53% to 30.98.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.75% or 45.05 to $2,615.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.47% or 2.32 to hit $69.24 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.16% or 0.45 to trade at $283.75 .
USD/BRL was down 0.83% to 5.75, while EUR/BRL fell 0.67% to 6.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.44% at 106.15.
