Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 2.21% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4), which rose 10.07% or 0.68 points to trade at 7.43 at the close. Meanwhile, Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) added 5.77% or 1.52 points to end at 27.85 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) was up 5.67% or 0.75 points to 13.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which fell 1.60% or 0.11 points to trade at 6.76 at the close. Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) declined 1.59% or 0.43 points to end at 26.57 and Natura Cosmeticos SA (SA:NATU3) was down 1.48% or 0.55 points to 36.55.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 296 to 173 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) rose to all time highs; up 5.77% or 1.52 to 27.85. Shares in RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) rose to 52-week highs; up 5.67% or 0.75 to 13.98.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.29% to 27.88.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.98% or 13.30 to $1349.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.96% or 0.63 to hit $66.14 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.29% or 1.60 to trade at $125.22 .
USD/BRL was up 0.13% to 3.1528, while EUR/BRL rose 0.27% to 3.9141.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 88.97.
