Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.43%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4), which rose 7.40% or 2.09 points to trade at 30.33 at the close. Meanwhile, B2W Cia Digital (SA:BTOW3) added 5.76% or 1.64 points to end at 30.10 and Viavarejo Unt (SA:VVAR11) was up 5.17% or 1.05 points to 21.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3), which fell 4.28% or 0.32 points to trade at 7.16 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) declined 2.17% or 1.02 points to end at 45.98 and RUMO Logistica Operadora Multimodal SA (SA:RAIL3) was down 1.74% or 0.25 points to 14.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 279 to 142 and 41 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 6.88% to 31.82.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 2.70 to $1201.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.60% or 0.64 to trade at $105.28 .
USD/BRL was down 0.62% to 3.8622, while EUR/BRL fell 1.16% to 4.3819.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 96.56.
