Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumption, Real Estate and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3), which rose 9.82% or 0.28 points to trade at 3.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) added 9.36% or 0.16 points to end at 1.87 and Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) was up 8.60% or 3.83 points to 48.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco do Brasil SA (BVMF:BBAS3), which fell 1.31% or 0.35 points to trade at 26.30 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3) declined 1.27% or 0.62 points to end at 48.35 and JBS SA (BVMF:JBSS3) was down 0.78% or 0.25 points to 31.68.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 463 to 462 and 68 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.29% to 31.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 8.70 to $2,422.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.91% or 2.13 to hit $75.33 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.91% or 9.23 to trade at $245.18 .
USD/BRL was down 0.53% to 5.63, while EUR/BRL fell 0.99% to 6.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 102.99.
