Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Public Utilities and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (SA:JBSS3), which rose 4.20% or 0.41 points to trade at 10.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) added 4.49% or 1.21 points to end at 28.15 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 4.10% or 0.98 points to 24.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3), which fell 4.45% or 1.03 points to trade at 22.11 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 1.65% or 0.15 points to end at 8.94 and Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) was down 1.43% or 1.14 points to 78.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 293 to 163 and 32 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.84% to 27.29.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1323.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.10% or 0.68 to hit $61.36 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.59% or 0.71 to trade at $119.62 .
USD/BRL was up 0.08% to 3.2575, while EUR/BRL rose 0.32% to 4.0186.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 89.88.
