Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities, Electric Power and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.45% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3), which rose 8.00% or 0.16 points to trade at 2.16 at the close. Meanwhile, Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) added 6.09% or 2.23 points to end at 38.87 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was up 5.35% or 0.20 points to 3.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3), which fell 2.59% or 0.59 points to trade at 22.19 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) declined 1.89% or 0.23 points to end at 11.91 and Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) was down 1.89% or 0.13 points to 6.76.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 473 to 456 and 59 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.24% to 25.32.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.32% or 7.65 to $2,371.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.74% or 0.61 to hit $81.72 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 5.82% or 13.65 to trade at $248.05 .
USD/BRL was down 0.94% to 5.42, while EUR/BRL fell 1.21% to 5.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 104.79.
