Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3), which rose 5.79% or 0.28 points to trade at 5.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco BTG Pactual SA (BVMF:BPAC11) added 2.44% or 0.68 points to end at 28.60 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) was up 2.41% or 0.13 points to 5.53 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3), which fell 3.99% or 0.31 points to trade at 7.45 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF:HAPV3) declined 3.83% or 0.09 points to end at 2.26 and Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) was down 3.08% or 0.35 points to 11.03.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 508 to 357 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.99% or 0.31 to 7.45. Shares in Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.08% or 0.35 to 11.03.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.30% to 30.17.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.71% or 19.09 to $2,691.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.21% or 0.89 to hit $74.21 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.62% or 1.95 to trade at $318.40 .
USD/BRL was down 1.18% to 6.03, while EUR/BRL fell 1.35% to 6.21.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 108.99.
