Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Public Utilities and Electric Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were EDP - Energias do Brasil SA (SA:ENBR3), which rose 4.46% or 0.64 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Raia Drogasil SA (SA:RADL3) added 3.87% or 2.90 points to end at 77.90 and Equatorial Energia SA (SA:EQTL3) was up 2.79% or 1.70 points to 62.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5), which fell 6.65% or 0.65 points to trade at 9.13 at the close. Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3) declined 5.03% or 0.48 points to end at 9.06 and Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) was down 4.67% or 1.39 points to 28.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 213 to 180 and 32 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.00% to 31.55.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.51% or 6.46 to $1276.06 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.91% or 1.53 to hit $54.17 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.77% or 2.20 to trade at $126.58 .
USD/BRL was down 1.65% to 3.2363, while EUR/BRL fell 2.03% to 3.7566.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.72.
