Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Basic Resources and Financial Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.52% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index fell 0.71%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG), which rose 7.89% or 0.825 points to trade at 11.285 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.82% or 0.480 points to end at 13.030 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 2.04% or 0.121 points to 6.053 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn), which fell 1.37% or 0.530 points to trade at 38.140 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) declined 1.13% or 0.980 points to end at 85.440 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) was down 1.05% or 0.170 points to 15.955.
The top performers on the MDAX were Rational AG (DE:RAAd) which rose 5.18% to 474.300, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was up 4.54% to settle at 40.170 and K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which gained 2.13% to close at 18.195.
The worst performers were GEA Group AG (DE:G1AG) which was down 20.24% to 37.900 in late trade, Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which lost 2.33% to settle at 53.230 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 1.65% to 55.97 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 3.48% to 23.490, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was up 2.35% to settle at 41.075 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 2.12% to close at 42.575.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which was down 2.06% to 27.520 in late trade, S&T AG (F:SANT1) which lost 1.37% to settle at 9.651 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was down 1.35% to 17.185 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 458 to 417 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rational AG (DE:RAAd) rose to all time highs; up 5.18% or 23.350 to 474.300.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.56% to 16.91.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 1.95 to $1267.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.89% or 0.98 to hit $50.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 1.12 to trade at $51.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.0931, while EUR/GBP fell 0.19% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 98.24.
