Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Financial Services and Telecoms Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 1.68%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which rose 3.44% or 1.380 points to trade at 41.460 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 3.13% or 3.100 points to end at 102.190 and Grupo Financiero Banorte (MX:GFNORTEO) was up 3.01% or 2.920 points to 99.970 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which fell 0.92% or 0.030 points to trade at 3.250 at the close. Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB) declined 0.83% or 0.34 points to end at 40.81 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was down 0.62% or 0.270 points to 43.410.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 140 to 37 and 3 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.24% or 3.10 to $1321.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.39% or 1.62 to hit $49.47 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 3.23% or 1.59 to trade at $50.85 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 1.80% to 18.4889, while EUR/MXN fell 1.33% to 20.5655.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 95.72.
