Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.25%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 2.04% or 4.200 points to trade at 209.980 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 0.60% or 1.460 points to end at 246.970 and PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) was up 0.58% or 1.040 points to 181.730 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which fell 4.18% or 0.950 points to trade at 21.800 at the close. Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB) declined 3.04% or 7.010 points to end at 224.630 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was down 2.94% or 7.040 points to 232.950.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 91 to 51 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1) rose to all time highs; rising 2.04% or 4.200 to 209.980.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.20 to $1122.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.66% or 0.78 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.28% or 1.16 to trade at $49.52 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.69% to 16.9133, while EUR/MXN rose 1.01% to 18.8887.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 96.24.
