Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Holdings & Investments sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.45% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB), which rose 4.94% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.850 at the close. Meanwhile, Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) added 4.37% or 0.47 points to end at 11.22 and Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) was up 3.74% or 0.040 points to 1.110 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD), which fell 2.75% or 0.130 points to trade at 4.600 at the close. Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) declined 2.38% or 0.130 points to end at 5.330 and Kerevitas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KERVT) was down 2.34% or 0.05 points to 2.09.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 240 to 108 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.74% or 0.040 to 1.110.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.30% or 4.25 to $1422.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $56.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.15 to trade at $63.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.60% to 5.7089, while EUR/TRY rose 0.09% to 6.3665.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 97.352.
