Investing.com – China stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mobile and Life Insurance sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Shanghai, the Shanghai Composite added 5.55%, while the SZSE Component index gained 5.69%.

The best performers of the session on the Shanghai Composite were Bohui (SS:600966), which rose 10.08% or 0.520 points to trade at 5.680 at the close. Meanwhile, Taiji Indust (SS:600667) added 10.06% or 0.530 points to end at 5.800 and Huatai Paper (SS:600308) was up 10.06% or 0.670 points to 7.330 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zj Haiyue (SS:600387), which fell 10.01% or 2.840 points to trade at 25.520 at the close. Shanghai Lianming Machinery Co Ltd (SS:603006) declined 10.01% or 4.95 points to end at 44.52 and High Hope (SS:600981) was down 10.00% or 1.940 points to 17.460.

The top performers on the SZSE Component were Tongyu Heavy Industry (SZ:300185) which rose 10.05% to 11.06, Jiangsu Zhongnan Construction Group Co Ltd (SZ:000961) which was up 10.03% to settle at 19.97 and ORG Packaging Co Ltd (SZ:002701) which gained 10.02% to close at 26.03.

The worst performers were Hybio Pharmaceutical (SZ:300199) which was down 9.13% to 32.33 in late trade, Rongxin Power Electronic Co Ltd (SZ:002123) which lost 8.51% to settle at 22.25 and Guangzhou KingTeller Technology Co Ltd (SZ:002177) which was down 6.85% to 14.42 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Shanghai Stock Exchange by 898 to 76.

The CBOE China Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Shanghai Composite options, was up 9.84% to 32.25.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.26% or 3.10 to $1175.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.08% or 0.05 to trade at $62.06 a barrel.

USD/CNY was down 0.09% to 6.2031, while EUR/CNY fell 0.52% to 6.9405.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 95.32.
