US Futures are down slightly ahead of US economic data that will start coming in at 830am EST. European markets are currently slightly up following record low unemployment numbers out of Germany. Asian markets were mixed as the Shanghai Composite climbed ahead of China’s big Golden Week holiday, which will close markets for the entire week.
Technicals
The SPY (NYSE:SPY) stayed within yesterday’s range but closed near highs at $250.35, 14 cents off all time highs at $250.49. Support will lie at the low of yesterday’s range at $249.63, followed by $248.87, the 20EMA at $248.69, then $248 which will continue to act as a major pivot point. Below $248, a gap fill down to the 50SMA at $247.12, followed by $246.23, $244.95, and the 100SMA at $244.68. Resistance will lie at record highs at $250.49.
