Finland: Unemployment Reached A 13-Year High
The unemployment rate in Finland jumped at 11.8% in May from 10.3% in April 2015, according to the official data that were released by the government.
This is the highest level of the last 13 years.
Dollar Is Under Pressure
Dollar moves downward against the yen today in anticipation of the economic data from USA, with the focus of investors being also in Brussels, where crucial negotiations are conducted on the Greek issue.
According to Reuters, the US currency fell in the morning by 0.2% at 123.63 yen and retreated from the one-week high of 124.38 yen where it had climbed last night.
The dollar benefited when the investors' attention focused on the prospects of the US economy, rather than the Greek crisis, which it had seemed that it headed to a solution.
However, the dead end in the negotiations between Athens and institutions put pressure on US bond yields and led dollar to a fall.
Negative Climate In Tokyo
The Japanese equities fell today as the dead end in the negotiations between Greece and institutions revived concerns about a Greek bankruptcy.
The Nikkei index fell by 0.4% to 20,771.40 points and followed the markets in Europe and USA which they were pressured yesterday.
The broader index Topix fell by 0.5% and closed at 1,670.91 points, while the turnover declined about 10% below the average of the last 100 days to ¥2.35 trillion ($19 billion).
