Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Consumer Staples and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher while losses in the Insurance, Telecoms and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 0.80%, while the ADX General index fell 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which rose 7.32% or 0.300 points to trade at 4.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) added 3.56% or 0.080 points to end at 2.330 and Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) was up 3.24% or 0.110 points to 3.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 9.84% or 0.078 points to trade at 0.715 at the close. Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) declined 4.97% or 0.03 points to end at 0.52 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 3.16% or 0.080 points to 2.450.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which rose 3.81% to 3.000, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 2.63% to settle at 0.7800 and Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which gained 2.00% to close at 1.0200.
The worst performers were National Bank of Fujairah PJSC (AD:NBF) which was down 10.00% to 3.33 in late trade, Methaq (AD:METH) which lost 4.44% to settle at 0.860 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was down 3.03% to 0.640 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 9 declined, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Takaful House (DU:DTKF) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.84% or 0.078 to 0.715. Shares in Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) fell to all time lows; losing 4.97% or 0.03 to 0.52. Shares in Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.24% or 0.110 to 3.500. Shares in Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.81% or 0.110 to 3.000.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.05% or 0.03 to $59.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $62.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 5.30 to trade at $1331.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.43% to 4.5343.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 89.59.
