Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Insurance and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.45%, while the ADX General index declined 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 3.38% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.140 at the close. Meanwhile, National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) added 1.61% or 0.050 points to end at 3.150 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 1.56% or 0.080 points to 5.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN), which fell 2.64% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 1.54% or 0.020 points to end at 1.280 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was down 1.28% or 0.006 points to 0.464.
The top performers on the ADX General were Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which rose 9.52% to 1.150, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 3.17% to settle at 0.6500 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 2.08% to close at 2.450.
The worst performers were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which was down 10.00% to 2.16 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 8.15% to settle at 2.93 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 4.48% to 0.640 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 9 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 rose and 10 declined, while 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.52% or 0.100 to 1.150.
Crude oil for October delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $47.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $51.66 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.52% or 6.76 to trade at $1289.94 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.56% to 4.3155.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 93.48.
