Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Services and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.33%, while the ADX General index fell 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 6.25% or 0.023 points to trade at 0.391 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) added 3.73% or 0.031 points to end at 0.861 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was up 2.83% or 0.030 points to 1.090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 5.05% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.070 at the close. Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) declined 2.82% or 0.160 points to end at 5.510 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 1.21% or 0.040 points to 3.270.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Medical Projects Co PSC (AD:GMPC) which rose 13.21% to 2.40, Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was up 6.06% to settle at 1.050 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which gained 4.55% to close at 2.300.
The worst performers were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 5.26% to 2.520 in late trade, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which lost 3.23% to settle at 0.600 and Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 2.60% to 0.750 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 18 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 8 declined, while 9 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.34% or 0.16 to $46.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.64% or 8.20 to trade at $1291.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.58% to 4.2970.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 93.80.
