Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Transport sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Staples, Telecoms and Banking sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.32%, while the ADX General index declined 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR), which rose 2.29% or 0.160 points to trade at 7.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) added 2.09% or 0.018 points to end at 0.878 and Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) was up 1.43% or 0.030 points to 2.130 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE), which fell 2.44% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.641 at the close. Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) declined 2.38% or 0.100 points to end at 4.100 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 2.25% or 0.020 points to 0.870.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which rose 7.41% to 2.90, Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which was up 2.29% to settle at 1.790 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which gained 1.45% to close at 0.700.

The worst performers were Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 2.73% to 6.78 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 2.38% to settle at 0.410 and International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which was down 2.03% to 1.45 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 16 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 7 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.31% or 0.18 to $57.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $63.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.70 to trade at $1268.90 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED rose 0.04% to 4.3503.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 93.03.
