Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Transport sectors led shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Telecoms and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.05% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index declined 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 1.64% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.74 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 1.44% or 0.030 points to end at 2.110 and Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) was up 0.89% or 0.010 points to 1.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK), which fell 2.63% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.110 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 1.34% or 0.005 points to end at 0.368 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 1.30% or 0.040 points to 3.040.
The top performers on the ADX General were Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which rose 9.58% to 2.630, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was up 7.14% to settle at 3.000 and Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which gained 3.90% to close at 4.000.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 10.00% to 0.900 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 2.91% to settle at 1.0000 and Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which was down 2.78% to 1.050 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 9 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 9.58% or 0.230 to 2.630. Shares in Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) fell to 3-years lows; down 10.00% or 0.100 to 0.900. Shares in Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.90% or 0.150 to 4.000.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.89% or 0.43 to $48.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.64% or 0.35 to hit $54.62 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.57 to trade at $1338.27 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.17% to 4.4025.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 91.76.
