Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 1.15%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR), which rose 0.71% or 0.040 points to trade at 5.690 at the close. Meanwhile, Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) added 0.45% or 0.010 points to end at 2.230 and Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) was up 0.41% or 0.020 points to 4.920 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which fell 6.86% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.580 at the close. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 4.41% or 0.090 points to end at 1.950 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was down 4.32% or 0.031 points to 0.686.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which rose 3.37% to 0.920, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 2.94% to settle at 1.400 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.52% to close at 0.670.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 9.37% to 0.580 in late trade, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which lost 2.73% to settle at 2.140 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 2.50% to 2.340 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 27 to 9 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 10 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) fell to 3-years lows; losing 4.41% or 0.090 to 1.950.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.92% or 0.63 to $67.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.54 to hit $74.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.80% or 10.60 to trade at $1308.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.13% to 4.4431.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 92.03.
