Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Transport and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.83%, while the ADX General index gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 4.71% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) added 2.07% or 0.009 points to end at 0.444 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 1.49% or 0.030 points to 2.050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which fell 3.59% or 0.070 points to trade at 1.880 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 3.25% or 0.020 points to end at 0.595 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 3.00% or 0.030 points to 0.970.
The top performers on the ADX General were Sharjah Cement AD (AD:SCID) which rose 2.04% to 1.000, International Holding Company PJSC (AD:IHC) which was up 1.69% to settle at 1.20 and Waha Capital (AD:WAHA) which gained 1.61% to close at 1.890.
The worst performers were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 5.14% to 0.683 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which lost 2.08% to settle at 0.470 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 1.78% to 0.607 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 21 to 14 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.25% or 0.020 to 0.595.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $76.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.14% or 0.12 to hit $86.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.20 to trade at $1202.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.20% to 4.2234.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 95.54.
