Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Banking and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 1.13% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index declined 0.68%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 1.27% or 0.030 points to trade at 2.400 at the close. Meanwhile, ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 1.25% or 0.060 points to end at 4.860 and Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Co PLC (DU:ASCI) was up 0.43% or 0.010 points to 2.310 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR), which fell 3.28% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.589 at the close. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 2.86% or 0.040 points to end at 1.360 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 2.44% or 0.022 points to 0.878.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ras Al Khaimah Poultry and Feeding Co (AD:RAKP) which rose 15.00% to 3.22, Buhaira Nat In (AD:ABNI) which was up 10.19% to settle at 2.380 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which gained 8.70% to close at 2.500.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 9.23% to 0.590 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 7.96% to settle at 2.660 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 2.60% to 0.750 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 27 to 6 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 17 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Co PLC (DU:ASCI) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.43% or 0.010 to 2.310. Shares in Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 8.70% or 0.200 to 2.500.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.18% or 0.62 to $53.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 1.31% or 0.72 to hit $55.80 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1234.50 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6725, while EUR/AED rose 1.06% to 3.8999.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.79% at 101.35.
