Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.27%, while the ADX General index fell 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 1.23% or 0.100 points to trade at 8.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) added 1.21% or 0.005 points to end at 0.417 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.00% or 0.009 points to 0.905 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which fell 2.53% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.930 at the close. Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) declined 1.61% or 0.009 points to end at 0.550 and Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) was down 1.42% or 0.120 points to 8.340.
The top performers on the ADX General were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which rose 14.65% to 2.270, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which was up 5.00% to settle at 1.0500 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 4.60% to close at 5.23.
The worst performers were Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was down 1.32% to 0.750 in late trade, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which lost 1.25% to settle at 2.370 and First Abu Dhabi Bank PJSC (AD:FAB) which was down 0.97% to 10.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 11 and 7 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 6 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.28% or 0.15 to $54.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.38% or 0.23 to hit $60.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.63 to trade at $1272.43 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.27% to 4.2750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.53.
