Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Transport, Services and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.23% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index lost 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 6.59% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.940 at the close. Meanwhile, Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) added 1.85% or 0.050 points to end at 2.760 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 1.77% or 0.020 points to 1.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which fell 2.88% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.010 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 2.44% or 0.020 points to end at 0.800 and Union Properties PJSC (DU:UPRO) was down 2.38% or 0.023 points to 0.945.
The top performers on the ADX General were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which rose 15.00% to 1.150, United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which was up 13.07% to settle at 1.730 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 4.37% to close at 4.30.
The worst performers were Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was down 6.35% to 2.80 in late trade, Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which lost 3.33% to settle at 2.900 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 2.27% to 0.860 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 24 to 11 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 12 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.88% or 0.030 to 1.010.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.21% or 0.79 to $64.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.33% or 0.91 to hit $67.67 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1336.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED fell 0.47% to 4.5556.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 89.42.
