Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.15%, while the ADX General index fell 0.95%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which rose 12.80% or 0.160 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 6.92% or 0.060 points to end at 0.927 and Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) was up 6.62% or 0.030 points to 0.483 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 3.08% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.503 at the close. Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) declined 2.31% or 0.060 points to end at 2.540 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) was down 2.10% or 0.030 points to 1.400.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 12.09% to 1.0200, Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was up 5.81% to settle at 1.64 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 3.63% to close at 6.00.
The worst performers were Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 8.68% to 2.420 in late trade, Gulf Cement Co (AD:GCEM) which lost 3.12% to settle at 0.9300 and Emirates Telec (AD:ETEL) which was down 2.44% to 18.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 19 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 fell and 10 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.80% or 0.160 to 1.410. Shares in Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.92% or 0.060 to 0.927. Shares in AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.10% or 0.030 to 1.400. Shares in Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 12.09% or 0.1100 to 1.0200. Shares in Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.68% or 0.230 to 2.420.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $45.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.73% or 0.34 to hit $46.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.35 to trade at $1278.85 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.06% to 4.0055.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.86.
