Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate & Construction, Finance & Investment and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General rose 1.80%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 14.41% or 0.170 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) added 11.48% or 0.140 points to end at 1.360 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) was up 6.19% or 0.070 points to 1.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which fell 4.08% or 0.042 points to trade at 0.988 at the close. Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) declined 1.02% or 0.060 points to end at 5.800 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was down 0.95% or 0.01 points to 1.04.
The top performers on the ADX General were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which rose 5.59% to 1.51, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was up 3.77% to settle at 0.550 and Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which gained 3.06% to close at 6.39.
The worst performers were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 5.41% to 1.0500 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 5.26% to settle at 0.360 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 1.64% to 2.400 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 25 to 11 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 12 rose and 7 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.95% or 0.01 to 1.04. Shares in Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.64% or 0.040 to 2.400.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.35% or 0.17 to $48.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.35% or 0.17 to hit $49.29 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1212.05 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.06% to 3.9056.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 101.05.
